EMDR overview
Not just for trauma anymore!!!
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is a structured psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective in not just the treatment of trauma-related disorders, but also anxiety, depression, chronic pain, substance abuse, OCD, and Phobias and more.
Developed by Francine Shapiro in the late 1980s, EMDR integrates elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure therapy, and bilateral stimulation to facilitate the processing and resolution of distressing memories and associated symptoms.
